Only a short 10-minute drive from New Plymouth, Inglewood is nestled between Stratford and New Plymouth meaning you can head to Stratford and climb Mount Taranaki to play in the snow, then head to one of New Plymouth’s many popular beaches for a surf, all on the same day!

This thriving small town has created a strong identity in the Taranaki area with a vibrant community and some impressive facilities. Home to the TET stadium, a world-class, all-weather Mondo athletic track that has played host to the 10km New Zealand World Championships, numerous local events and the 2021 Taranaki Masters Games in March. Inglewood is also home to Fun Ho! a national toy museum which has on display over 3,000 Fun Ho! toys and a hay barn style theatrette.

Inglewood is a popular destination for community events. It is said that the annual Lions Christmas Parade is Taranakis' most popular Santa parade, drawing huge numbers from all over the region. In February each year, the town also plays host to New Zealand’s largest all American car show Americarna, where more than 700 American cars roll into town. Inglewood’s main street is closed for a free street party, the township will find cars on display, as well as live music and food stalls to enjoy.

There is never a dull moment in Inglewood, for when there are no events or celebrations, the local cafes and businesses keep the township thriving. Many Taranaki locals are known to head to Inglewood for a famous pie from Nelson's Bakery or a non-dairy ice cream from Little Liberty Creamery. Cafe Windsor, which is located on the main road, was also awarded Taranaki’s Best Cafe in 2005 by Cafe Magazine. They were also winners of: Casio Cafe Awards Best Cafe 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002 Best Cafe Runner-up 1998.

Inglewood is also known for its historic buildings. A number of them are listed by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, with one being the McDonald Real Estate Inglewood office which is located on the corner of Rata and Richmond Streets and is one of eight listed as Category II.
